It is not "polished" or completely bug free because I expect only few users to use a command line client for their daily browsing activity (although it's ok for me). The thing is, that having a useable client is one - but not the only - of gc's design goals. Take a look at that file to see what is working and what not.

The current version of gc is 1.0.0. There is a tar (installation works as described) and a debian archive for compatible distributions.
The debian archive install also the prerequisites (through package dependencies). To uninstall it, you would execute
sudo apt-get purge gc sudo apt-get autoremove
